Environmental Engineer

Environmental Engineers use tools and principles from a variety of engineering disciplines and establish practices to prevent, control, and/or remediate environmental, health, and safety hazards in solar industry operations.

As part of the clean energy economy, Environmental Engineers collaborate with Manufacturing and Process engineers, Hazardous Waste Technicians, and experts in law and business to address environmental problems related to solar activities. Environmental Engineers monitor solar manufacturing facilities and use of hazardous materials; inspect installation sites and equipment to evaluate and ensure compliance with environmental regulations; and provide environmental engineering assistance to network analysts and regulatory analysts. Additionally, Environmental Engineers monitor the progress of environmental improvement programs and inform clients of potential environmental issues.
